At Spirit Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, our lineup is continuing to add vehicles that are meant to help you drive as efficiently as possible. One such example is the new Jeep Wrangler 4xe. People often ask us how this compares to the standard Jeep Wrangler, and we're here to tell you!

The most important distinction to make between the standard Jeep Wrangler and the Jeep Wrangler 4xe is that the Wrangler is a traditional gas-powered vehicle, while the Wrangler 4xe is a plug-in hybrid. With the latter, you're able to utilize a gas engine that also has an electric motor to add more fuel economy and stay efficient through regenerative braking, plus a limited all-electric range that can be recharged.

So, how does that distinction work under the hood? Well, with the 2023 Jeep Wrangler, you're going to find it has a standard 285-horsepower V6 onboard, plus some optional V8s depending on the model you choose. With the 2023 Jeep Wrangler 4xe, it provides a combined 375 horsepower using a turbocharged four-cylinder engine and two high-power electric motors plus a battery pack to create the plug-in hybrid system. This gives you around 370 miles of driving range, as well as up to 21 miles of pure electric driving. It also offers different modes like eSave Mode to help charge the battery for later use, while being able to tow up to 3,500 pounds as well, which is the same as the standard option.

The Wrangler 4xe is only available in the following trim levels: Sahara, Rubicon, and High Altitude, while the gas-powered Wrangler has other options. Also, the Wrangler 4xe is only available as a four-door choice due to needing the extra space for the batteries onboard. With the traditional Wrangler, you can find two-door options.

There are still many similarities, however. Onboard the technology is very much the same. You will find touch displays that allow you to integrate your smartphone using Apple CarPlay™ or Android Auto™. This gives you the chance to connect and enjoy apps, hands-free calling, messaging, and other features with ease. There are also safety features that you will find on both the Jeep Wrangler and Wrangler 4xe. This includes options that allow you to be alerted to hazards or potential collisions as well as blind spots. Additionally, there is parking assistance and adaptive cruise control available too.

For those who choose either a Jeep Wrangler 4xe or Wrangler Sahara or Rubicon, you also can find available features that include drain plugs and wash-out interiors for those who go on off-road adventures and track the outdoors in with them.

Along with the efficiency, you will find a standout cabin. All Wrangler 4xe models are four-door options, wand the removable roof and door panel choices are available to you. Inside you'll find seating for give as well as the latest in onboard technology, which includes Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay®. There's also standout safety which includes forward collision warning, rear cameras, and adaptive cruise control among the many features you can find on the 2022 Jeep Wrangler 4xe plug-in hybrid here at our Grand Rapids dealership as well.

There is a lot to like about both vehicles whether it is the standout pedigree and 4x4 capability, or the ability to have the option to drive without using any fuel for short periods of time. Here at Spirit Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, we can guide you through it all and help you experience it with a test drive when you visit us here at our location, 4611 Avenue Q in Lubbock!
